Antique French Chromolithograph Advertising Label Unused- Bonbons

Antique French Chromolithograph Advertising Label - this label dates to the late 1800's, early 1900's. Unused, it is part of an old printing company's stock. Labels like this were applied to all sorts of products, the printer had 'blanks' like this, and together with a smaller label with the products name on it, these would be applied to all sorts of products. The chromolithograph process produced prints unlike any other printing process, even today. The colors are saturated and rich.

This label shows a fashionably dressed aristocratic party on a balcony, throwing down 'bonbons' {small very costly sweets} to a crowd of mostly children below. Signed with the artist signature, the colors are rich pinks, greens, purple and brown on a cream background. In good antique condition for labels over 100 years old. A gorgeous addition to your collection, perfect to frame, or to paste on a favorite journal or create your own art work.
