Antique Art Nouveau Gilded Metal Figural Cherub on Stand, once a part of a pocket watch holder. Made in the 19th century, this has a cherub and gilded cast metal base. A fragment with great presence, the figure is well modeled and just so charming I couldn't pass it up on a recent buying trip.
Not perfect, over the decades the legs have become a bit unbalanced, and there are bits missing, but it’s still very charming. On a modeled plateau that has a little well on one side, this would be perfect next to a bed to hold your diamond rings at night. Aged, worn patina, perfectly imperfect. A shabby piece, please only adopt if you don't mind a few missing bits here and there.
