A sweeping vision of English countryside elegance, this Burgess & Leigh large Flow Blue platter features grand castles, a serene lake, and three elegant women in a country scene. The deep cobalt blue glaze flows beautifully across the crisp white transferware, with a subtle early-tissue glaze pop on the rim, underscoring its authenticity and historical charm. The beautifully scalloped rim makes this platter especially exquisite.

Marks on the back date the platter to the years of production between 1889 and 1919. In very good condition, a glaze pop {present on early pieces of transfer tissue printed pottery like this} on the rim as shown. A wonderful addition to your collection of blue and white., this 19th-century English transferware platter is increasingly rare to find, it's  highly sought after by collectors.
