Beautiful Vintage English Fox Hunting Creamware Wedgwood Pitcher, this highly detailed and gorgeous D’ye Ken John Peel fox hunting themed pitcher boasts a jaunty hound on the handle. How stunning is this? Made by Wedgwood, the company started by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759 in England.
This pitcher illustrates a famous Cumberland 19th century song celebrating John Peel, and English fox hunter from the Lake District, written by his friend John Woodcock Graves. A delight for serving your famous libations when entertaining, but also marvelous to display a glorious flower arrangement. Has a kiln fissure on the foot which is not a tear. Marked on the bottom for 1940, and the full Wedgwood hallmark.
