Vintage Italian Four Seasons Figures with Gilt Stands, a beautiful and complete set made by Borghese, each one a delight! It’s extremely rare to find all four, and all four in this kind of condition. Borghese Co. began in 1900, and their decorative pieces are highly sought after because of their exceptional quality. This set is made of plaster, and the figures are copies of classical Italian sculptures.
Each is highly and finely detailed, the figures representing Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. They have been finished in an ‘ebonized dark wood’ color, the bases have a hand applied gilt finish. In very good condition for their age, these four are so charming to display together on your mantel, your French Country buffet, or on a bookshelf in your library.
