Beautiful Vintage Italian Borghese Marbelized Ceramic Box, with a stunning tortoise marbled design. Charming scalloped shape, inside the surprise of a blue-green painted finish. Borghese is a company beloved for their high quality reproductions of classical sculptures, frames, and boxes. Borghese began in 1900, and their decorative pieces are highly sought after because of their exceptional quality.

This box is beautiful, the domed scalloped lid is stunning, the box looks just like the 18th century original it was modeled after. Often the sticker labels were removed, as is the case with this box. A  tiny spot of felt has run away from the bottom as shown. Rarer to find these days, especially in this good condition, it’s a gem! Place it on a stack of your designer books in your living room, or on a shelf in your library, or your antique French desk.
