Large 1930’s ironstone bowl, a wonderful large size, perfect for a big centerpiece on your dining room table, to display vegetables or fruit on your French Country kitchen island, and more. Homer Laughlin Potteries began producing pottery in the 1870’s, this huge bowl was made by Home Laughlin in May, 1934, at the Newell Potteries, West Virginia.
Rare to find a big bowl like this, I fell head over heels in love with it the minute I saw it. There is patina, this bowl is, after all, practically 100 years old. What delicious things have been mixed up by cook in this one can only guess at! These days, it’s perfect for all the other uses mentioned above, but also, of course, to use for mixing batter for your world famous holiday cakes and cookies.
