RED Tole Peinte Tole Tray, decorated with hand painted floral bouquet in the center featuring one large rose surrounded by daisies and other provincial garden flowers. Little bouquets of flowers around the perimeter, the rim has been painted with gilt. The tray is enameled in deep rich, elusive and rare to find merlot wine red! The flower colors are rose, pink, cream, blue, purple, green golden yellow and a hint of apricot. Exciting find, so collectible with the reticulated edge, the rolled rim, one of the heavier ones.
There are a circular indentations on the front of the tray, they aren’t scratches since they were painted over with the original decoration. Please only acquire this work of art if you love antiques with patina, that charming testament to age, please see closeup photos.
