Larger Antique Shelley Jelly Mold, a lovely old white porcelain jelly mould with detail carvings around the sides and a raised center. Molds like this were used to create delicious puddings, ‘jellies’, salads in aspic and blanc mange, a milky pudding made with gelatin. Most were served with a home made red berry sauce, it’s why the molds have so many edges, so the sauce makes quite a statement when poured over the pudding when serving.
This beauty was used and cared for with great love. It was made around 1916, marked on one narrow side. For over one hundred years it made every single family member happy when cook took a mold down from the shelf, it meant pudding for dinner! There is some straining on parts of mold due to age, and the very tips have a little age appropriate wear which is to be expected after all this time.
