Exciting Antique Paris Green Tole Peinte Large Tole Tray decorated with an exceptional floral bouquet filled with pink apricot roses, sweet white marguerites {daisies}, softest pink and cream hydrangea, lavender, purple, blue and white little country garden flowers. Stunning painting by an accomplished artist make this an heirloom tray to desire. The background is that soft French green we love, with craquelure.
From a collector who had a custom thick oval glass insert made to fit inside the tray to protect it, I did not use it for the photos, because of the glare, but it’s wonderful to protect this art work. This tray has it all, age, beauty, probably lots of stories to tell. Gilt hand painted detailing around the oval rim, the edge is reticulated. Exciting find, collectible French trays like this in this size and condition are rare, especially with such high quality painting!
This is such a charming accent piece, it is in good age~appropriate condition with minor wear to the gilt as expected in pieces of this age. Perfect to display on your mantel, on your sideboard, with your collection of toleware in your library, or anywhere you are looking for a decorative piece of history to thrill you each and every time you see it.
