Antique English Blue and White Biscuit Jar or Barrel with Silver Plated Lid, made by George Jones and Sons, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England under their Crescent name in the early 1900’s. Vivid blue and white design, with different bird scenes on four sides.
Such an unusual and lovely biscuit jar, or barrel as the English call these. The footed body has an elegant shape, the silver plated handle has an extra nouveau detail. In wonderful condition for the age, the central scenes have vibrant pink, blue, yellow and green. A stunning addition to your tea table. All we need to know is one lump or two?
