A beautiful asset for any gracious table, this early Antique Continental Sterling Silver & Vermeil Sifter or Strainer Spoon is beautiful. Known as a Saupoudreuse, this one has an exquisite scalloped hand pierced bowl with vines and leaves. The feminine sterling silver handle has elegant Louis XVI Rococo styling. This gorgeous sifter is particularly heavy and rests beautifully in the hand.

Bought from a family estate in Europe, it is marked but I have not been able to identify the maker. Lovely to use to sprinkle sugar over freshly cut fruits or over desserts, cakes, madelines or even drinks. Perfect to serve a fresh fruit medley at your table. A gorgeous and sturdy piece to add to your collection of 19th century fine silver, and to add to your gracious entertaining.  {Last photo shows some of the different sifter spoons we currently have available, sold seperately.}

  • Measures 7-7/8″l x 2-1/2″ for the bowl.
