19th Century Majolica Plate with Chestnut Leaf

19th Century Majolica Plate with Chestnut Leaf, this is a beautiful plate, large in size, with a gorgeous Art Nouveau design.  The large chestnut leaf and pink red flowers are hand painted on a soft yellow ground, a rare combination. Made by the Schramberg factory between 1828-1883 by Isador Faist.

This large plate features a decorative scalloped rim.  Further design embellishments in brown and green complete this ornate design. The plate has high gloss, and deep rich colors. The molding is crisp, thee are a few tiny areas of wear on the front of the plate after over 100 years.
