Lovely 19th Century Large Black Hand Painted Floral Tole Tray in an extra large size, with a hand painted central floral bouquet in lush jewel colors. The cutout handles make this tray useful as well as beautiful. Made in the early 1800’s, the artist who painted this tray was quite accomplished, each petal, leaf and gilt detail is finely painted.
The ornate gilt painted border is stunning, it has all the finest delicate tendrils, foliate elements and rococo style details we all love. To find a tray of this size with the floral bouquet completely intact is exciting. There is aging like you want to see of a painted tray of this era, adding to the history and charm. A beauty!
