Welcome Your Favorite Season with Candles

Once the temperature starts dropping, nothing is quite as welcoming as the glow of candles burning. So calming and cozy, a burning candle creates a relaxing environment in your home. Welcome Your Favorite Season with Candles. Whether scented or made of 100% beeswax, candles lend a soft light and shimmer to make our homes {and us!} look especially becoming.

Welcome Your Favorite Season with Candles

Fall is the season of cozy things, from comfortable sweaters to warm apple cider. At a time when the weather is getting cold and gray, cozy and calming is exactly what we need at home. One beautiful advantage to the fall days getting shorter is the warm glow of candles in our homes.

Welcome fall with candles

I personally love when the days get shorter, because that means the warm glow of candles create a special atmosphere here at home. Most fall days, I’ll light a favorite candle in the living room or kitchen it in the morning, before I read my devotion, then my emails while drinking my morning coffee. I might move the candle with me to my office, where it glows on my desk throughout my work day. Once it gets darker, I'll bring it back to the living room, I just love the way it sets the mood, and creates a relaxing environment for the evening.

For dinner, I'll light a few tapers, or sometimes just one, so that we can eat by the glow. Our natural beeswax tapers have a slight, natural smell, they add a little touch of elegance and complete our table.

Autumn is the time to surround yourself and those you love with all things warm and welcoming. The time to curl up in front of your fire with a warming drink, or delight in a cozy evening spent with friends, with the glow of both unscented tapers for mood, and delicious luxurious scented candles for scent.

Luxury Candles

One of the main reasons why luxury candles are worth buying {compared to general candles made with parrafin waxes} is that they're made with wax of the highest quality {beeswax or soy} and they're specially formulated to burn cleanly and evenly. The wicks are made of natural cotton and are carefully chosen to ensure that the candle burns safely and efficiently.

A luxury candle is not just a candle, it's an experience. The right candle can transport you to a different place and time, evoking memories and emotions.

SCENTED CANDLES

Scented candles will calm your inner being, lift your spirits, and remind you why you love autumn so much, even though the days grow shorter and sun can be hard to find. We have a few signature candle scents here at FrenchGardenHouse that are a great favorite. Because I'm highly sensitive to candle scents, I chose clean, natural scents that are not overpowering. A fall favorite, our French Les Bois Candle, is inspired by the fresh scent of verdant woods in France. Perfumed with the fresh scent of fir balsam, cedar and grapefruit, the fragrance flourishes into orange, eucalyptus and bergamot.

Our Le Lac Chateau Candle has green marine notes layered with sea moss, the fresh scent of ice juniper, mint leaves and aniseed, and a subtle touch of amber to create a layered calming scent.

When choosing a scent, it is important to think about where you'll be placing the candle. In your living room, scented candles can have a more seasonal smell, but for a kitchen you'll want to choose a more neutral scent so that it doesn't overpower the smell of your delicious food that you're cooking.

Our French Tomato Vine Candle is the candle I love everywhere, in the kitchen, the living room, the library and the bedroom. It smells clean, earthy and reminds me of that French greenhouse I visited long ago.

Saint Francis Quote

Candles look wonderful grouped together. My favorite place to group them is on the dining room table. Candles and flowers go together, and work hand in hand to make any meal feel special and out of the ordinary. One of the sweetest habits I was taught long ago by an elderly friend from church was to light a taper candle on the table when sharing tea with a friend. Lighting the candle before pouring makes a simple cup of tea and a cookie transform into a memorable time spent together sharing hearts.

BEESWAX TAPER CANDLES

It's no secret that I adore taper candles, but these beeswax tapers are my most favorite. They are inherently artistic, wondrous to the eye, and the beeswax omits a subtle and gorgeous smell, lending a beautiful feeling to the candles in the hand.

Our new line of candles is made by a small American company based in the foothills of the Catskills Mountains. They design and produce handmade beeswax candles in their own studio, sustainably, authentically and creatively. I'm thrilled to launch beautiful and seasonal colors in a variety of tapers, twig and exotic bamboo taper, and two colors in stunning sculptural candles in the shape of French finials. While I love the French beeswax candles, this year I really wanted to find a small business that made beeswax candles here at home, in the states - to support not only the candle making company but also the bee keepers.

Beeswax is the ultimate material for candle making. It burns beautifully and slowly, it's pure, wholesome, hypoallergenic and a renewable resource. It also lends itself to the small-scale studio production for this line of candles because they're able to work with its natural properties that can vary in color and consistency from batch to batch.

Each is hand poured and hand finished. Made of 100% purest beeswax, which is harvested from the ‘capping wax’ which is the super-fine seal on the honey comb, leaving the honeycombs intact to protect the bees and their home. {many other companies use beeswax that’s made by totally melting down honeycombs, leaving the bees homeless.}

Believing that candles add an element that makes our everyday lives spectacular, each is carefully designed. The sculptural design aesthetic of these candles make them more than candles, they evoke beauty and graceful, elegant sophistication.

Beeswax candles are a sustainable choice, and they keep us healthy. Unlike most natural fuels, beeswax releases negative ions when it burns, rather than positive. These negative ions attach to the positive ions all around us, such as mold, dust, pollen, odor, and other toxins. That means beeswax candles clean the air we breathe!

By burning pure beeswax candles – at home, in the office, for celebrations and every day, we’re gifting ourselves and our loved ones cleaner air and a positive atmosphere. We are also keeping ourselves safe from carcinogenic toxins, soot, and other forms of pollution that can be caused by paraffin candles.

These candles are made without fragrance or fillers, the magic of beeswax is amazing! I wish you could smell them, they smell amazing!
