Today is a beautiful spring-like day here in California, and you just have to be inspired on days like this.
It has been such strange weather here, we've gone from summer temperatures to winter temperatures, but today, it's spring!
The perfect mild weather, with a soft breeze, the birds are singing in the garden.
I so enjoyed styling a few of the "new" French Country garden antiques for my shop FrenchGardenHouse.
This is one of my most favorite pails, ever. It has just the right amount of blue left on it, it was used for decades in France as a minnow or bait bucket.
But I prefer it holding a great big bouquet of spring flowers in pinks and purples. How lovely this will look in a French Country home.
Aren't the Ranunculus so pretty? They open with so many layers of soft, paper thin petals. The Lisianthus is a deep purple with pink high-lights, when they open they look like roses.
Together, they make the perfect color combination for this blue and grey bucket, don't you think?
These clay pots are old, they come from an estate conservatory in France, I love their years of patina.
They have five drainage holes, I've never seen those before, have you?
Some of these were painted a dark, forest green, some are a lighter green. I wonder if the gardener painted them to hold a certain color of flowering plant?
There is something special about these pots.
I am glad that I was able to buy the whole lot of them for us! {Some for our garden here at FrenchGardenHouse, some to sell to you.}
I can't get enough of these Ranunculus, I especially love the striped ones! I put a huge bouquet of them in the new French Hare jardiniere ... these are a smaller size per your many requests.
The large French Flower Buckets are always so popular, but many of my customers asked for a smaller size to showcase their prized orchids. Or to display on the entry table for Easter. So these are a smaller size.
Aren't they beautiful?
I'll be working in the garden this next week to style some photoshoots of all the garden antiques I just bought from France, while the sun is still out!
In a few days we should get some showers, but Spring is undeniably here.
And I am so happy, I love the soft breeze, the roses beginning to bloom, and the birds. I wish my blog had sound, so you could hear them!

We still have sun and warmth—the freshly laundered sheets are flapping on the line outside, that makes them smell so delicious—but rain is forecast. It’s now or never—summers here are hot and dry.
We’ve gone from fabulous Spring like weather back to winter since the start of spring yesterday! It is pouring with rain and decidedly chilly once again; how fickle the weather can be! But still the plants are thriving, the leaves are sprouting leaves and all is well.
