Table Matters : How to Set a Country French Autumn Table

Table Matters : How to Set a Country French Autumn Table
Entertaining at home is the perfect environment for friendships to flourish. Now that Autumn is just around the corner, it's the perfect time for you to invite a few friends for an easy supper. Set the table with an array of autumnal hues and textures, the perfect pairing of colors bring the warmth of fall to your table. Falltable7 The wood table in our kitchen is set with an antique French runner, the hand woven texture is slightly rough to the "hand", making it a perfect French Country base for every table setting. The low contrast palette of neutrals include natural linen, brown, and a silvery zinc, with simple French pottery. Falltable4 Each placesetting starts off with a natural round placemat, I have used these forever, and never tire of using them for different casual table settings, they are the perfect base for so many different looks. Falltablecenterpiecefgh The centerpiece is an antique French body pitcher in natural zinc color, filled with faux branches. Natural, with French country charm. Falltable6 Most of the time when we entertain here at home, the food is not fussy, but I do like set an inviting mood with a spectacular dinner table. I used some antique French wooden balls as a centerpiece last night, they are usually in a bowl. That's what is fun about having antiques at home, you can display them so many ways. They are meant to be used. The balls are part of the French game Boule Nantaises, now they are decorative objets d'art. {But, they can still be played with on the lawn, too!} Falltable1 The colors are soothing, aren't they? This table is all about texture, and simple, French Country appeal. Falltable3 The napkins are layered with a feathered ribbon, the colors of the feathers are visually stunning. Falltable2 Don't forget to check back next week for my next post, I'll share the simple dinner I served. You know I am more about designing a pretty table than cooking involved meals. Starting with a Limoncello Citron Cocktail and a plate with cheese, crackers and nuts to share, the menu has Soupe de Poulet Blanc and Salade d'Avocat. The soup goes in your slow cooker, it's all easy, and delicious. See you then! Happy Weekend! Leave me a comment below and let me know what your favorite Fall menu is for entertaining.

So beautiful, Lidy. I love how you used the antique French balls, do you sell then? I’d love to get a set.
