Love in Bloom Flowers
Love's in Bloom in honor of Valentine’s Day. Are you planning something special for someone you love? Mr. FrenchGardenHouse and I never go out to dinner on Valentine's Day. It's just too busy, too rushed, and too formal {think prix fixe.} We prefer to have dinner at home, I'm sharing my Love in Bloom & Flowers with you today. Love in Bloom Flowers WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS! I know that my sweet friends Shirley, Pam and Mary have some heart felt flowers planned to share with you too. I'll give you their links at the bottom of this post. For many years, we've shared a Valentine's dinner with another couple, taking turns hosting. I love both - when I get to set a beautiful and cozy table for them and make an elegant meal here, or going to their house to be spoiled with a lovely evening. This year, our special date is here. For our Valentine's Dinner this year, We usually start off the evening with drinks and appetizers in the living room by the fireplace. Then go to the live-in kitchen for our dinner. This Valentine's Day, I set up a little dessert station near our dinner table. That way after dinner we can stop by there, and choose a dessert {or a few} as we go back to the living room for the rest of the evening. Valentine's Day Tea Table Valentine's Tea Table This year, I decided to pull out all the stops for a swoon-worthy table set with antique lace, silver, porcelains and pink roses. Because if there ever was a holiday to set a romantic table, this is it, right?! I layered an antique French cloth over a larger white tablecloth. This topper has the most exquisite lace border, and a hand embroidered monogram on two sides. Since we don't really drink coffee after our dinner, I added some pretty tea cups and our French tea to go with our dessert. Those little roses in the silver bowl are our French rose sugars. They're perfect for this romantic table! antique tea cups on table Love in Bloom Flowers For this Love in Bloom floral arrangement, I choose ballet pink roses, pink alstroemeria, cerise pink tulips, and a few soft pink hydrangeas. Added together with a few snippets of greens and breath of heaven from Mr. FGH's garden {he wasn't home - by now you know how he's so protective of his plants and flowers!} they make a ravishing bouquet in this antique Victorian Ironstone pitcher. I fell in love with that deep pink striped detail, and it was the inspiration for this pink on pink color theme. Pink roses are a symbol of elegance and grace, gentleness, happiness, gratefulness, and joy. They're often given as an expression of admiration. No matter what they symbolize, when I find them in such a gorgeous color, they certainly make ME happy! Love in Bloom Flowers

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."

1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love in Bloom Flowers Since I was going for over the top romantic, I polished the antique tea pot, the silver servers, and everything feminine for this setting. An antique hand vase holds tea spoons on the silver cutlery caddy, and a sterling and crystal sugar bowl serves up luxury grapefruit sugar cubes. Meant for cocktails with champagne, they also taste delicious in hot tea! How cute is the antique cherub pair, one is pulling a cart {his friend is just sitting there! not really fair.} that holds the sterling silver milk pitcher. It's little details like this that make your guests smile when setting your own tables. {proving my point that antiques as well as people like to have fun!} Love in Bloom Flowers One last thing: I know I share mostly antiques and decorating {and flowers!} on this blog, and I love to share my passion for them with you. I hope that this is also a place where you feel encouraged as well as inspired. I’ve come to think of many of you as friends. I may not know each one of you personally, but I appreciate you, you mean a lot to me. Because without you, I wouldn’t be able to have this caring community of people that I get to share my passions and life with. I hope you know how special you are. Love in Bloom & Flowers Over the years of me sharing my world, and you leaving me kind and sweet comments, I feel like we have become friends. I wanted to let you know that I realize not every one of you has a Valentine. Maybe you have in the past, or maybe you haven't found that special Valentine yet. But you are loved, and Valentine's Day is perfect for celebrating every one we love, family, friends, neighbors and even pets.

Lidy, your dessert table is dreamy and feminine. Your antique sense of style and taste is so lovely. The little cherub cart stole the show because it is so unique but your flowers do too. The antique pitcher is beautiful and I like your choice of tulips, roses, alstroemeria and the sweet greenery with delicate blossoms.
Happy Valentine’s Day next week.

What a beautiful and romantic table setting. So perfect for Valentine’s Day. I, too, love seeing your amazing antiques. I absolutely love the French table cover. Usually, the flower arrangements steal the show, and the roses and tulips are stunning, but everything is so beautiful. From the charming antiques, to the sugar roses, to the tea cannister, and to your delicious looking dessert. Everything is so very pretty. I don’t think I’ve ever commented before, but I enjoy your blog very much. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you this beautiful Valentine inspiration. My Special Valentine (husband) of 58 years and I don’t go out on the 14th either. I haven’t planned that celebration yet. But for the other special family members I am planning something special for them the Friday before.
I consider all my blogging ladies my friends also. I especially enjoy being connected to those who share their faith and scripture.
