Fall Decorating In The Kitchen

Fall Decorating In The Kitchen
There is a coziness and welcoming warmth in our kitchens when there is a nip in the air. It's the heart of our home, and the place many of us spend so much time. Today I'm giving you a peek into our fall kitchen at FrenchGardenHouse, I've been doing some Fall Decorating in The Kitchen. Please have a cup of warm apple cider and join me! Fall Decorating In The Kitchen WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS! It's a joy for Shirley, Mary and Pam and I to welcome you to this Monday's floral edition - or floral therapy as many of you lovingly call it. Be sure to click on their links at the bottom of my post to drink in all the fall floral beauty they have created for today! Monday Morning Blooms Fall After adding a few autumnal touches to my mantel, I always start fall decorating in our kitchen. Fall Decorating In The Kitchen Autumn's color palette was made for our black and white French Country kitchen! I set the big table in the very middle of our kitchen so that it's ready for a quick breakfast, coffee or dessert for our family. I began with a French grain sack draped side sideways in the middle of the table. Fall Decorating In The Kitchen The velvet pumpkins are in an old antique trencher, I love their contrasting textures. Small plates and bowls are stacked up. My favorite bee napkins are nestled in an antique copper grain measure together with silver forks. Because I spend the most time in this side of our FrenchGardenHouse, I usually arrange something seasonal and pretty on this table. Since we do actually eat here, I try not to go over the top! Corralling all the pumpkins in a trencher, or on a tray, also means that you can lift it off in one motion if you need to clear the table for dinner. Fall Decorating In The Kitchen For this Monday's flowers, I bought Spider Mums, Protea, Green Hypericum Berries, and Eucalyptus and Lemon Leaf greens. This antique French cream Sardine Pot was just the right size and has the right country look for my autumnal flowers. *{Watch for a new post about The Secret Life of Antiques - all about Antique French Sardine Pots next!} Fall Decorating In The Kitchen Fall Decorating In The Kitchen A few snips from a bush in the front garden rounds out the filler, and the very last bright chartreuse hydrangea. When you can, cut a few things from your garden to give your floral arrangements a "just picked" garden look. Fall Decorating In The Kitchen Our soft golden mustard, grey, cafe and cream colored Lambswool Bronte Throw is just perfect for this cozy season. Setting a beautiful table is one of my very favorite things to do. Fall Decorating In The Kitchen Aside from fall decorating in the kitchen, I love the smells and tastes that come from my kitchen in autumn. Gorgeous Lidy! You are so right about the kitchen as the heart of the home. Yours is certainly welcoming with your arrangement in your French Sardine Pot, trencher of pumpkins, grain measure and beautiful linens! Like Rita, I love the pop of red accents from your range knobs. I’m so to share blooms with you and enjoy your flower therapy. Happy Monday <3

Jenna, I wish you could join me here for a cup of cider and a treat! {I almost made the Caramel Apple Cream Pie, but knew then I’d eat it all by myself…so no pie. Sorry.} Fall is my favorite season, and while I don’t decorate like I did when our girls were little, a touch of the season is always a good thing, no?

Wishing you a beautiful Monday, Jenna!

I love the deep burgundies and subtle reds you chose for the flowers and the one pop of red pumpkin nestled with the other neutral ones, so perfect for your black and white kitchen Lidy! The pastries make your vignette so welcoming and cozy…and that carmel apple cheesecake pie, oh goodness! Beautiful, casual and oh la la elegant at the same time!

Thanks so much for joining me today, Pam, it’s always a treat when you do! Casual elegance is my style, using beautiful antiques but not in a fussy way. Plus we normally have children, little people and all their dogs join our own Bentley here in the weekends! {These days the whole clan mostly gathers outside in the garden, but still!}

Lidy, the antique sardine pot is the perfect container for your beautiful flowers. Your table is laden with gorgeous antiques. I agree with Rita, you do have a flair for casual elegance. The trencher filled with beautiful velvet pumpkins gives all the autumn feels for your lovely table. I would really enjoy a slice of the caramel apple cream pie with my coffee…I do love dessert for breakfast! I love sharing Monday Morning Blooms with all three of you beautiful friends!

Happy Monday Rita! The sardine pots are great fun, I love that each one was hand-made {mostly in France and Italy} and has their own personality. We do have a moderate climate, but fortunately where we live we also have a bit of “fall”- not as glorious as yours, but I love it all the same.

So lovely, Lidy! I must tell you I am hungry and your food is not what this is about but has caught my eye. Are those ginger snaps?
Your autumn kitchen is cozy, elegant, and charming. All the antique pieces add such elegance. Your flowers are perfect in the sardine pot. I love the colors and textures you chose. I look forward to your post on Antique french sardine pots.

You have such a flair for casual elegance. Lidy. I thought at first the sardine pot was a pitcher, but after your description, I noticed and love the thumb grips on either side. Your arrangement is rich in autumn color and I couldn’t help but notice what a beautiful punctuation it makes against the knobs of your stove! I know CA has temperate climate year-round, but I hope you’re enjoying autumn and all its beauty as much as we are here in the eastern US.

The FGH is my “go to” to get amazing antique therapy. Always swoon over your beautiful containers that you use for your ever so gorgeous flower arrangements. Love how the table is sprinkled with more antiques as vessels for such fall pretties. It warms my heart to be able to take a peek/tour of your kitchen. I spy so many beautiful things that you surround yourself with for you and your family to enjoy.
I so love joining you and the the others of Monday Morning Blooms as you all truly speak from the heart and it shows in the beautiful creations you present. Have a great day Lidy!!!
