Copper is such a beautiful color, it's been on my trend radar for the past few years. The more I see this metallic reddish brown color, the more I fall in LOVE with it!
Especially in autumn, it's a color that mixes into a variety of decor styles, and gives off its beautiful majestic glow wherever you use it. I love it especially in French Country settings - but then you probably guessed that.
I really wanted to highlight the warm, cozy beauty of fall with this arrangement. I didn't change much at FrenchGardenHouse before leaving on our fall antique buying trip, but now that we're back home, it's so fun to pull out some special antique pieces that look like autumn.
I used my grandmother's French antique copper tea kettle that usually sits on our range.
Achieving this look is so easy, it just requires the use of two colors with a subtle gradation of hue, an heirloom copper container and textural, ruffled blooms and greens. I love how this corner of our family room suddenly looks like fall, aren't the squirrel and green pumpkin pillow covers so charming?
Flowers used to create this rich fall-hued arrangement:
1. Creamy White Roses with a soft Yellow Tint
2. Rust Mums
3. Rust Orange Alstroemeria
4. Seeded Eucalyptus
Each of these flowers brings its own personality to the arrangement. I always like to assure that the arrangement has enough depth by making sure I use some lighter and darker hues.
After placing the roses and mums pretty much where I wanted them, I clustered the accent flowers {alstroemerias} in groups of three, and inserted them in the other flowers.
For another layer of texture and interest, I placed a few sprigs of seeded eucalyptus around the bottom of the arrangement. I love how they drape so nicely over the edge of the copper kettle.
Then I checked all angles, to make sure the arrangement was full from every side, filled in any empty spots, and done!
I love how this turned out! Our family room doesn't have a coffee table, instead it has a big oversized ottoman. Because that makes putting the cups of pumpkin-spiced lattes I love hard to put there, I use a tray.
This tray I'm borrowing from the shop until it sells! The colors are just right for autumn, and this arrangement.

I just came in and put zinnias, marigolds, orange and the yellow ones and dahlias in a copper container. I love your arrangement. Flowers make me very happy. I said I wanted at least a thousand flowers this year. I think I came close.

After the farmers market this am , went antiqueing and got the most beautiful Abusson pillows , they will look great in my living room. A chair for the family room and a very small lamp for the kitchen Happy dance

Your floral arrangement are so gorgeous, Lidy! As always! I agree that copper is very popular now, as if it ever went out of style !!!! But I feel people are starting to use it in more innovative ways and we are going to see more copper and gold…more glitz. What do you think? Anyway, I enjoyed all your pictures and came away with some ideas for vases, albeit, glass, for me! :)
