Dress Your Table for Fall

My favorite season is just around the corner! It's still hot here in California, but I've already started adding elements of autumn here at home to our decor. If you are ready to celebrate this lush, glorious season at home, one of the easiest ways to start is with your tabletop! Here is an easy, beautiful Fall tabletop to inspire you. You don't need to invest in a whole new set of dishes, just a few key pieces can change the look of your table for fall. Here, I've used our Country Plate in Khaki French Bleu Stripes together with the coordinating Khaki Cafe au Lait Bowls and French Country Gingham Cafe au Lait Bowls for this easy, elegant French Country style table setting. Accented with willow baskets, and displayed on our new plush Juliet Velvet Tablemats in Grey, isn't this a welcoming table? All you need is a heartwarming soup, a hearty loaf of French bread, some cheese, perhaps a glass of wine and some fruit, and you have a simple way to share the bounty of autumn on your table. I added fresh pears for their glorious bright green color to this tablescape, an antique French basket, some faux garland left over from last year's Thanksgiving table, and our Mother of Pearl Antique Silver. Tip: don't be afraid to mix your "new" with antique pieces, it gives your tables a storied look, they tell "your story" and often antique silver or serving pieces are great conversation starters! A few faux pumpkins and one in velvet add interest and texture, too. Of all the reasons to add some new table mats, dishes, or other decorative accents to your repertoire of "table setting elements", I vote for Fall as a really, really good one! A fresh table setting allows you and your family or friends to celebrate and enjoy the colors and textures of this season.
