Beautiful Tables with Victoria

Victoria magazine has always been the epitome of gracious living, hasn’t it? I know here at FrenchGardenHouse, I’ve gotten endless inspiration for beautiful interiors, stunning outdoor spaces, entertaining and antiques. You can’t imagine how honored I am to have a little feature in their latest book, The Art of Beautiful Tables, in the tastemaker’s section. Beautiful Tables with Victoria as inspiration is such a delight!

Setting a beautiful table, whether with antique snow-white linen cloth edged in lace, sterling serving pieces and delicately painted French porcelains, or setting a fun, casual outdoors table to enjoy in spring or summer, this gorgeous book has it all! The table shown below is a perfect mix of casual and formal. I love everything about it, from the blue and white color scheme to the large floral arrangement to the garden pots. Perfection!

Beautiful Tables by Victoria

I adore everything about the setting shown below. It’s outdoors, but that didn’t keep this hostess from using her antique linen tablecloth edged in lace, her crystal goblets, best dishes, and silver!  That extravagant arrangement of bright roses in vibrant jewel tones adds to an ambience of regal grandeur that both beguiles guests and reflects most favorably upon the hostess.

If you have read me for a while, then you know that while i DO cook, I don’t claim to be a fantastic chef. I can use a slow-cooker like everyone else, and can cobble together some great food, but my real love is to set beautiful, fun and inviting tables! {I’m still secretly dreaming of Mr. FGH turning into a world class chef, so that all I have to do when entertaining is set pretty tables. Hope springs eternal!}

From the photos I sent the editor of Victoria magazine of different table settings, the book’s editorial team chose my table set with antique Limoges and bright green colors for a January luncheon in the kitchen.

    A little late to comment but congratulations on being featured in my favorite magazine. Love all of your tables. Like you I enjoy pulling out long forgotten dishes to make a lovely table setting. I usually set the table a day before entertaining so that I have time to enjoy looking at it and cooking the meal. Beautiful!

    Good morning. I like to think I am both but I plan the table long better details of the meal. All that’s left is serving plates. Victoria puts out such beautiful books. Congratulations on the recognition of your achievements.
