Rare Antique Staffordshire Blue Willow Butter Dish made in Staffordshire England in the mid 1800’s. The Blue Willow center is surrounded by a press molded white and gilded rim, with the word BUTTER over the top portion. These were often used daily and there are few which survived intact without the deep staining I so often find these in.
This one has a speck of cobalt blue that wandered on one side, which is not unusual in these early pottery pieces. There are a few kiln seperations, and little glaze chips on the rim.
- Measures just shy of 6-1/2″in diameter.
