Exceptional Antique Souvenir Seashell Work Pincushion in wonderful condition. This 19th century decorative hanging cushion features beautiful shells including the rare Pelican’s Feet Shells so beloved by the Victorians.
Fantastic detailed design, this treasure has a circular pin cushion covered in golden crushed velvet, with a scrap of a boat pinned to the center. The border is surrounded by shells and little “shell chips” glued down to the back ground – it’s some sort of hard board. The back is covered in paper and what looks to be a advertising card featuring a cherub. A fabulous addition to add to your collection of shell antiques and sailor’s valentines.
