Summer! Is there any better time to gather some girlfriends out in the garden and host a Seaside Summer Jewelry Party? My girlfriends love gathering together, and always want to be ‘the first’ {!!} to see what’s new in our FrenchGardenHouse jewelry collection each season. This month, I am hosting a Seaside Summer Jewelry Party just for them….and you!
WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS!
Pam, Mary and I are so happy to welcome you to our seaside flower inspirations. I will link to their blog posts at the bottom of this post, don’t miss their gorgeous flower arrangements, they always inspire!
Seaside Summer Jewelry Party
We live in a California sea-side town, so a seaside theme is a natural choice for most of our summer entertaining. On a beautiful summer day, I set our back garden table for a luncheon. The garden is really not at its very best anymore, but there are still beautiful flowers to enjoy. Since it’s not too hot yet, because we get wonderful ocean breezes, the outdoors is a wonderful place to host a small gathering of friends.
I sent out these simple invitations with an antique postcard image of girls enjoying the ocean via email to friends. {the postcard is one of 3 in an antique set}
This linen tablecloth is the prettiest light ocean blue, and it makes the perfect back drop for my favorite Bella Bianca Rosette dinner plates made by Arte Italica. I kept the table settings simple, because after lunch, we’ll be displaying jewelry on this same table.
A deep blue linen napkin is folded onto the plates, with a favorite French Ercuis silver plate knife and fork on the top. We will be drinking iced-tea, so a heavy glass goblet glass that I’ve owned since we got married is perfect at each place setting.
The flowers echo a seaside theme in blues and whites, I love these variegated blue and white hydrangeas, some are light blues, some are deeper blue. They look right at home in the 19th century blue and white floral pitcher, the colors are so good together! For this party-luncheon, I kept things really simple….other times I have glued shells on skewers to nestle into the flowers, but summer for me is really about casual elegance…the easier the better!
All that I added to the floral centerpiece are white alstroemerias {they continue to be my favorite ‘last forever’ flowers} and some eucalyptus. The coral like things are lavender in color, my jury is still out if I like them in the arrangement or not!
I used a large platter on this summer table, I layered on some shells and an antique shell box for an added seaside effect. And when it’s time for the jewelry collection to be shown, I can pick it all up easily.
Psalm 113:3
“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.”
I found these blue glass votives at a discount shop for a great price, so they hopped into my cart. {Never mind that we have a ton of votives..I mean, that color is perfect!}
After an easy lunch of salad, chicken, watermelon and berries, we cleared the plates to look at the jewelry.
I put the jewelry on plates, to make it easy to set up, I just had to grab plates from the kitchen and place them on the table. The jewelry in our summer collection is blue, white, and gold, such a refreshing color palette to brighten up any outfit on a summer day.
Pearls are always a great look, especially with the crisp linens of summer. The cotton pearl bracelets were a great favorite.
The gold bee and white turquoise proved to be a great favorite for summer! A little less formal than the Queen bee pendant on pearls, this piece was voted as the “go to accessory” for summer by all the guests.
A summer party like this is always fun! I mean, friends, cool drinks, a light meal and shopping for jewelry! What could be more enjoyable?!
Thank you so much for visiting my Seaside Summer Jewelry Party today!

Bonnie, thank you for your visit! The table was so fun and easy to set, and clearing and setting up the jewelry part was so easy too, with the jewelry all on their ‘own’ plate. We were so blessed with the weather, no rain, no heat, just a glorious sunny day. Wishing you a blessed 4th of July! xoxo
Good morning, Lidy. What a charming girlfriend’s party with a beautiful table, delicious food, and jewelry shopping! What lady would not enjoy such a fun luncheon! The antique postcard was the perfect email invite. Your blue and white hydrangeas are lovely placed in the blue and white pitcher with the always faithful alstroemeria. I love the antique shell box and the blue glass votives. The summer jewelry collection displayed on the blue and white plates is gorgeous! I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite piece, but maybe the gold bee
It is always a pleasure to join you for Monday Morning Blooms, and especially in your garden! Happy 4th of July!

Good morning Shannon, thank you so much for your visit. It’s so fun to set tables outdoors {without sudden rain storms!} on beautiful early summer days. Wishing you and your family a blessed 4th of July!
Just beautiful Lidy! Your flowers steal the show in that pretty blue & white pitcher! I love the way you set the pitcher on a platter with a variety of shells, that can be easily picked up and moved when you need the space for your jewelry party viewing. The blue and white color scheme is as refreshing as a sea breeze~ I so enjoyed the jewelry party in your beautiful summer garden!
Jenna, thank you so much for visiting this morning…I love the colors of blue and white too, it really is such a soothing color theme, isn’t it? Wishing you a blessed 4th of July. Xo Lidy💙❤️💙
Good Morning Lidy! I peeked at your post this morning then was out the door to walk the dogs and do my garden chores before the heat climbed to the ‘sweltering’ range. I’m back inside in the comfort of the A/C to enjoy your beautiful post. What a fun theme for a summer lunch and gathering and way to kick off July, with a jewelry party. I adore the queen bee pieces and your blue transferware plates are a lovely way to show them off. The images on your antique postcards are so sweet and I love your pretty shell boxes too. As always it’s a treat to share flower therapy with you. Wishing you Happy Fourth of July week and celebration! ❤️ 💙
Good morning Mary! What a delight to join together for our July Monday Morning Blooms! Thank you- I love the soft blues of the ocean and summer. Wishing you a beautiful 4th of July on the lake! xo
What a gorgeous post, Lidy!
Thank you Kerry! Looking forward to visiting you at your artist studio this week to see all your gorgeous paintings!
Oh, to be a guest at that party! Your use of the PomPom ocean blue tablecloth, together with the navy napkin, your navy & white chairs, and the china is a really pretty look. The pitcher and flowers in those same ocean & sky blues make for a perfect backdrop for that gorgeous jewelry! My favorites are the bee intaglio and lapis and the blue & white bamboo toggle! Just gorgeous. Those postcards are so perfectly coordinated too. What a fun afternoon that must’ve been! Happy July, Lidy!
Happy July, Rita! Blues and whites are always soothing and relaxing, aren’t they? Thank you so much for your visit today, it’s always a treat to have you visit here. Wishing you a beautiful 4th of July!
Waiting for an invitation, I would love to join you. Such a lovely place.
Anja, that would be so fun! It really is the best time of year before it gets really warm that ocean breeze is wonderful!
Lidy your table is so nostalgic and I love it. What a great way to celebrate your jewelry, lunch and dear friends. I enjoyed seeing your lovely flowers in the background…they look great to me although I know the hot July sun can be hard on our plants. Stay cool…and have a wonderful summer.
Thank you so much for your visit, Kari. I hope you have a wonderful summer too! Xo Lidy
Lidy, I visited when you posted, but for some reason I could not leave a comment. Back tonight to let you know how much I enjoyed this. Beautiful setting for your girlfriends, and the jewelry is so tempting. I love the bee charms and lapis has long been a favorite for me. The seaside theme is a favorite for me having grown up on the Gulf coast. I’ll always be one to embrace sea shells! Love the antique shell boxes. I have a small collection of these charming seaside souvenirs.
Sarah, thank you so much! It was so fun to pair this latest jewelry collection with a soft sea hued setting for this Monday Morning Blooms. I’m just taking 2 necklaces to Europe for our summer trip and they both are part of this bee collection! The lapis is my daughter’s favorite and such a gorgeous color, isn’t it? Wish we lived closer!
