Mother’s Day may be completely different this year for most if not all of us. But that doesn’t mean we’re skipping the chance to show our beloved maman how much we love them, appreciate them, and miss them! Below I’m sharing a few suggestions for Mother’s Day gifts in our Mother’s Day Gift Guide that are sure to make all the moms in your life happy. {Including YOU if you normally shop for your own gifts!}

A thoughtful gift, especially this year, is sure to give your maman a huge smile. Mother’s Day is such an important day to honor and celebrate the women in our lives! Because without these women, our lives would be so much less wonderful, not to mention not half as much fun. A thoughtful gift lets them know you appreciate them and are thinking of them, always. This is also the perfect time to express your gratitude and love for your sister, wife, and friends.

LUXURIOUS SELF CARE.

Moms deserve the best.  What is better than a gift all for herself?!  If you fall in love with subtle floral fragrances, you’ll love this scent. With a top note of Florida grapefruit, bergamot and lime, muguet de bois, grass, ocean breezes and herbs, this is refreshing and romantic all at once.

I chose the sugar body scrub that I use every morning in the shower because it smells heavenly! Made of gentle sugar crystals and natural shea butter, it’s a fabulous exfoliator that keeps your skin looking and feeling younger and more radiant.

Afterwards, this beautiful Shimmer Powder is heavenly! Keep your skin dry, soft and shimmering all day with theShimmer Body Powder Talc-Free with Baby Puff. Lightweight and very fragrant, you’ll love the luxurious feel you get from even the slightest application. Give your skin a treat that lasts all day long.  The puff is handmade lambs wool, inspired by the glamorous starlets of long ago who reveled in a beauty routine that pampered the soul as well as the body.

It adds just a hint of glimmer (not too much) and I adore the way it smells and makes my skin feel. Very pampered. Be sure to order some of these lovely luxuries for yourself!

I began with the delicious scent of the lavender perfume, its fragrant French lavender buds are accented with crushed cedar, crisp eucalyptus and hints of warm clove.  It’s a fresh clean scent anyone will love, and can wear. I have a difficult time wearing perfume, but this one is so clean and pure, it’s my new favorite!  The box includes a sugar scrub to use in your shower – you can also just wash your hands with it, but why stop there?  Two custom wrapped French lavender soaps, and a hand made lavender wand to scent linens or lingerie. All nestled in a bed of lavender shred, topped with our signature toile tissue, sealed with a gold seal and presented in a black box with a chartreuse French ribbon.Voila! Gifts…done!

    I can’t believe you included the powder puff. My mother (whose birthday is on Mother’s Day. The year she was born, 1942, it was Sunday, Mother’s Day that year) has never been a “girly girl”, not like me. She’s never been concerned about makeup, it was just a little bit of lipstick and maybe a little powder when she was young, but I don’t think she’s worn any in decades. She was concerned how she was dressed and looked, but couldn’t tell you a name brand of clothing to save her life, she was more concerned about quality. A former clothing inspector in her early days before she went into nursing a little later in life and it was a NIGHTMARE to go clothes shopping with her as a teenager. I would see something I wanted, what everyone else was wearing and I would hear, “just look at that, they can’t even match the plaids (or stripes) or whatever it would be”. Then it would usually be, “well I can make that for almost nothing!” Well NO teenager wants to hear that, THEY want the poorly made, far too expensive thing everyone else is wearing. Then I would remind her HOW so very busy she is. BUT…..there was ONE thing she did enjoy to pamper herself which I can remember her using as long as I can remember. A little cardboard round container of body powder with a puffy applicator. Over the years the scents and containers have changed. They’re becoming fairly difficult to find. I can’t begin to think how many Christmases that was the gift or part of a gift I gave to her. For years, it’s what my golden retriever Lucy gave to her as her “granddog” at Christmas. Last year as Lucy is gone, I had to make sure I gave it to her. Hopefully for this coming Christmas, a new granddog will be giving one to her. I may just have to think about one for Mother’s Day OR her birthday as they never last a full year. We always celebrate both events the same day as her birthday is always within a few days of Mother’s Day. (our family has this oddity about it, EVERY person’s birthday is either within 2 days of another family member’s birthday or its on another holiday or celebration. I guess it began with my mom, then I was born on their 1st anniversary. And so on it goes. I should have known the girl my nephew is dating, a fellow teacher, was ordained to become his wife when I discovered her birthday was Groundhog’s Day AND….TWO days after my little sister’s birthday. They WERE to be married on June 28th, the day before my parent’s anniversary and the day after the family member whom he’s named after’s anniversary. Sadly however, the decision was finally made this week to postpone it. We’re in Maryland and we’re not even CLOSE to having the state open enough to allow a large wedding to take place. BUT….true to form for our family, they picked the date of their first date AND the day he proposed. It’s never possible for us to just have one thing celebration on a day in our family. It’s the CRAZIEST thing.

  2. What a wonderful personal story you’ve shared! I love it. I have memories of my Mom using a little puff of powder too, and now that she is gone, that memory fills me with happy thoughts!
