Pair of Rare Antique Brass Side-Eject Candlesticks

Beautiful Pair of Antique 18th Century Brass Side-Eject Candlesticks, very fine antique cast brass candlesticks made between 1750-1800. Well made, they have a six-sided flared base, and six-sided central columns. The button end mechanisms to eject a candle are particularly charming, and a rarer shaped design.

Used in both homes as well as public places {restaurants, pubs and hotels} candlesticks like this were fitted with an ejector in the hollow-cast stem for removing candle stubs. In good antique condition for their age, one has lost its brazed in plug resulting in an opening as shown. A stunning pair of candle holders to grace your table, your mantel, your side board, and to add to your heirloom collection.
