Designed to hide your silver coins in, banks like this have a secret compartment, like this one does underneath. The hidden compartment swings out from the bottom, it still has the little key.
A delightful addition to any home, this is a very unusual shape, as most money boxes were indeed in the shape of a box. Love this one! A treasure from the past.
