Antique French Gilded Trade Cards Harlequin Set of 4

Antique French Trade Cards featuring Harlequin, a delightful set of four. Each one depicts Harlequin, I think this shows his courtship with a beautiful girl. The cards are entitled "Dear cutie, if I only I dared!", "You know you will have to deal with me!" {threating another suitor to stay away, perhaps?}, " Mysterious Conversation" and "A surly father-in-law". Cards like this were given away with the purchase of products, children {and adults!} all over France collected them and pasted them in albums in the early 1900's.

The cards came with a French cleaning product for wool, sold at 18 Rue de Roule, Paris, a business street. Whimsical graphics, beautiful colors touched with gold. These French trade cards are so collectable, will be a great addition to your ephemera collection. They will be stunning framed!
