19th Century French Flow Mulberry Plates Set of 6

An exquisite set of six 19th Century French Flow Mulberry Plates, made by Paul Utzschneider et Cie, Sarreguemines, France, richly detailed in deep ink and accented with fine gilt details. Under the leadership of Paul in 1800, the factory produced some of France's finest porclain.  Napoleon I became one of his major customers and placed several orders with him. The factory supplied most of the original tiles used to decorate the walls of the Paris metro during its construction.

These exceptional French plates were produced in 1850-1860 and embody the refinement and artistry that made Utzschneider ceramics sought after across Europe. Each plate is beautifully decorated with flowing mulberry motifs that softly blur into the white ground. The delicate gilt touches here and there adds an elegant touch of luxury, a testament to the impeccable taste of the Sarreguemines ateliers. A rare and sophisticated set, perfect for display in a curated cabinet or to grace a beautifully set table with historic French charm.

{Although the color is called mulberry by collectors, the color is actually in shades of black and gray.}
