Availability: 1 in stock

Exceptional 19th Century Blue Jasperware Cake Stand with Silver Plated Base, such a beauty! Made in the earlier part of 1800, by William Adams from Stoke-on-Trent {the home of The Potteries in England}, he is most known for the creation of jasperware. The deep cobalt blue of this stand makes the classic designs in white stand out so beautifully, and is a testament to the sublime artistry and finesse of William Adams, an eminent member of the illustrious Adams pottery family.

The classical figural scenes are bordered by a beautiful leafy garland on the rim, set off against the distinctive ‘Adams blue’ colored background. The bottom is silver plated, that part was made by Christopher Johnson & Co, of Sheffield, England, who was a well known and very successful maker of cutlery and small plated pieces. This is such a rare treat, to find a jasperware stand like this of this age in this condition – a unicorn! Of note, the top silver ‘button’ has some wear and scratching after more than 200 years

  • Measures 9-1/4″ x 5-1/4″h.
