A pair of Exquisite Antique Early Victorian Color Lithographs in Period Frames, absolutely beautiful! Each of the prints is rich, deep and luminous in color, as only these early prints can be, and stay. The prints feature a girl selling holly in winter, and the other a young boy {although it could be a girl because the facial features are very fine} playing the harp in the rain. I have not been able to find out the artist of these beautiful works of art, although I do know that later they were re-produced into postcards.
Each is framed behind glass in stunning frames, made of wood with a gilt finish, repousse metal corner covers, and marbled embellishments on the front. I fell in love with these two, we have not taken them out of the frames, there are a few creases in the print that are hardly noticeable but we did not want to exacerbate those. The colors are deep, moody colors of greens, browns, pinks and creams, wonderful! Sold as a pair.
