Early Antique Estate Staffordshire Spaniel Dog made in the earlier part of the 1800’s, with well painted details and great russet coloration. From a collector who prized this one for the kiln ‘faults’ in the earlier dogs, a seperation at the foot and the glaze.
This beauty has a chip on the front, while the larger dogs were often displayed on the mantel, smaller dogs like this were often played with by children. The chip has not been repaired nor repainted because that’s part of his charm.
