Antique Wicker Handled Silver Plated Chocolate Pot, made by Hutton & Sons, established in Birmingham by William Hutton in 1800 and moved to Sheffield in 1832. Marked for 1902 on the bottom with their crossed arrow mark, this elegant jug features a reeded footed body and lovely spout with charming detailing.
The English silver plated jug has a hand woven wicker handle which has been kept in good condition by the family who owned this beauty. Of note, one slight indentation on the side where the new lady’s maid dropped it {she was so good at hair she wasn’t dismissed.} The hinged lid is surmounted by a domed finial, the finial is held on with a rubber gasket inside the lid. A wonderful addition to your silver service collection.
