Antique Silver Toddy Spoon or Ladle, with an elegant twisted curved handle. Hand made, making each of the two we have available unique. The ladle is of small proportions suitable for strong drinks and was used for casual measuring for spirits in a family home for generations. Traditionally served at New Year’s celebrations, a toddy was a heady combination of ale, whisky, eggs, sugar and spices, heated. It packed quite a punch!
These date to the early to mid 1800’s, and make a wonderful, collectable cocktail bar accessory. {Or break all the rules and use them to ladle up your world famous sauce for fruit when entertaining in gracious style.} Unmarked, so I’m calling them silver plated. In wonderful condition for their age. Please choose one or both, they have lived with the same family for generations.
- Measure 7-1/2″ long; bowl 2″ diameter.
