Antique Meissen Serving Dish in Hand-Painted Porcelain with Pink Roses, first quality mark. Part of a dinner service that was hand-painted and magnificently decorated. Complement your home dinner service with this stunning scalloped platter and present all sorts of culinary delights on this noble tableware! The graceful “Meissen Rose” was based on the still life paintings of Count Camillo Marcolini in the Biedermeier period. Entirely hand-painted and precisely crafted, adorned by the magnificent flowers, the pink roses gracefully intertwine on the porcelain.

With its slightly opened petals, the ‘Meissen Rose’ exudes a classic elegance that is rivaled only by few designs. Even though the design and arrangement are predetermined, the flower painter still works freehand. After just lightly sketching out the shape of the flowers in pencil on the piece in question, the images are applied by hand directly on the porcelain all the way down to the finest details of the petals and leaves.  It takes many years of mastery to be considered qualified to paint porcelain for Meissen like this. This beauty is from 1815-1924, with the Meissen mark on the back. First factory quality mark- small little glaze irregularities you see when looking at the platter from a certain angle, priced accordingly.
