Beautiful Antique Limoges Hand Painted Plate Art Nouveau Poppies with wonderful and charming flower design. Porcelain painting was a beloved hobby in the late 1800’s very early 1900’s, as ladies of means took great pride in their painting skills.
This was painted on a French Limoges blank made by J Pouyat, with a gilded edge. The poppies are apricot on soft cream, yellow and green ground. A lovely addition to your collection, to display or even gently serve your famous dessert on. Of note, there is a small chip on the underside.
