Gorgeous estate hand painted Antique Tole Tray in the elegant Chippendale shape. With a rare to find Blue background, the central bouquet of flowers features Pink and Cream Roses in full bloom, Blue Morning Glories, a stunning White Lily, Orange and Yellow Tulips, sweet little Violets and other French country garden favorites in purple, lavender, and white. Enhanced by well painted foliage in subtle colors of garden green, this was painted with great care and skill. Outstanding gilt flourishes with alternating cross hatch panels in gold embellish the rim of this stunning tray.
An heirloom example of the French and English pieces so beloved by collectors for their masterful painting and the scalloped serpentine rims. There is wear to the gilt as shown, commensurate with the age of this tray, the blue has some wear in places after decades, the floral bouquet is just beautiful.
