Antique Hand Made Herb Chopper with Oak Handle

Antique Hand Made Herb Chopper with Oak Handle, used for over a century in a family’s kitchen. Substantial hand forged steel, the fine quality blade is inserted into the oak hand turned handle and separated with a brass detail.  Marked by the maker, O Forslund & Son on one side of the blade. A beautiful and exceptional quality chopper.

Choppers or cutters like this were traditionally used for a multitude of purposes in the kitchen, to cut herbs and garlic fine, to chop vegetables, or to cut portions of dough neatly into equal portions. There is wear, aging, and everything you want to see in a culinary antique like this from the late 1800’s. There is a wood knot on the side of the handle on one side, adding more personality! We have oiled the handle, cleaned the steel and sharpened the edge. It’s sharp. Use or display with a collection – a beauty!
