French 19th Century Glass Cheese Dome

French 19th Century Glass Cheese Dome with Solid Glass Knob Handle. This Antique Glass Cloche with Hand Engraved Scalloped Design was used for covering cheese or pastries, most likely for display in a retail shop. Hand blown glass, with a lovely design {I’ll admit this was the most difficult ever to photograph item!} and a pretty border all around. Perfect for displaying small cakes, cheeses, fruit or breads. Amazing when paired with a cutting board or antique china.

In wonderful condition for its age, there is a very small under bottom edge chip. You can see the straw marks {where the blown glass was left to cool down} which is what you want to see in these old old glass pieces. Dates to the earlier 1800’s. Great to display and use in your home, especially while entertaining.
