Exquisite Sterling Silver treasure, made in the early 1900’s by the master silversmith André Delphy, of Paris, France. André Delphy worked from 1905 in Paris as a master silversmith and jeweler. Stunningly beautiful, this is the creme de la creme of silver work, purchased on my latest European buying trip from a silver dealer specializing in only the best. If you are a discriminating collector and only desire the best for your luxury collection, this is the perfect addition.
The beautifully painted figural cherubs are finely painted on a thin wafer, covered with the original glass, signed by the artist Polet. Beautiful facial expressions on the cherubs, they are set in the silver and gilt top behind glass.
The silver work is outstanding, with amazingly fine engine turned patterns on sides, top and bottom. Inside, the lid and bottom are gilt, heirloom quality. In wonderful condition, this piece was part of a fabulous decorative collection carefully kept by a French collector of sterling.
