Antique French Souvenir Shellwork Box, this 19th century decorative box features beautiful shells on the lid and around the sides. The very top retains its original pin cushion, although the silk has faded and shredded over the century. A variety of shells were used to create the artwork.
Fantastic detailed design, inside, the original paper lining is bright pink. Exquisite shells in a variety of colors including pink, yellow, apricot and red. A few of the outlining shells have run away, but I don’t mind that, please only buy her if you don’t either. A fabulous addition to add to your collection of French shell antiques and sailor’s valentines.
