Gorgeous Antique French Limoges White Double Sided Sauciere with Under-plate, made in Limoges, France in 1880. This collectable Sauciere or gravy boat has a classic elegant shape, with elegant applied handles, all in white glazed pottery. Wonderful design, the scalloped under-plate is attached to catch any drips of sauce or gravy.
These saucieres were made with two sides and two handles to aid in the ease of handling the very hot gravy at the table. A fine addition to your serving ware for your table, to display with your antique white-ware collection, and to use at your best tables. Of note, both handles have been professionally repaired by the family, neither ever broke all the way off, they had a fissure. Please only adopt her if you can love her with this grace of time, after all, she is quite old!
