Antique French Limoges Charger Plate Signed Romantic Scene Pink & Gold – truly a masterpiece! Large in size, with a luminous 24 k gold sponged embellished fluted edge, the Limoges artist N. Roche signed the scene in the lower corner. The sweet couple, he wearing his beautiful knee britches and a jaunty vest with stripes, and his beloved mademoiselle wearing her white summer dress and bonnet, her sprigged floral over skirt and red jacket, are enjoying a beautiful sunny day in a meadow. Both have added hand enameled details. The plate is clearly marked on the underside with a red Klingenberg and Dwenger mark used from 1900 to 1910. There is a nibble to the under edge, and the gilt has a bit of wear on the scalloped points as shown. A delight for your collection!
