Antique French Industrial Salvage Bench Vise Screw Clamp, an antique wooden clamp and old carpenter’s tool or woodworking device from the early 20th century. Clamps like this were used in making large wooden barn doors, huge farm house tables, and even stables.
Found in France, today the clamps are prized as a work of art. This piece is signed by the maker with his stamp, M. Mercier. There is wear and plenty of patina, the screw was carved from one piece of wood. Made at a time when tools were made to last. It is in very good condition and fully operational. Use as is, or as an intriguing display with antique books.
