One of my very favorite finds ever, these Antique French Hand Painted Sevres Quality Porcelain Miniature Plates have the most charming paintings of children in the French countryside. So beautifully painted en grisaille, of the quality of Sevres and other superlative French Empire porcelain painters.
Too detailed to be saucers, my best guess is that these were either dessert bowls, or meant to be purely decorative, they are of such exceptional quality. Sold in a set of three, one with a boy holding a bird, one of a darling little girl and one with a boy and his dog and chickens. Of note, these are from the very early 1800’s, one does have a small chip please see the last image.
