Exceptional Antique French Gilded Bronze Double Photograph / Picture Frame, of the very finest quality. This French beauty dates to the late 1800’s, and has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Behind the glass, two circular photo openings are surrounded by a gilded bronze bezel. The yellow silk is embellished with a variety of classical gilded decorative mounts.
At the top, a French laurel wreath crowns the frame. Such a rare beauty! The back has been re-done by a fine craftsman because the original wood splintered, a luxury backing of suede has been added to the frame so that it will look its best for at least one more century. A rare find from France, frames like this are getting more difficult to find in any kind of condition, usually the silk is totally shattered and worn.
