Beautiful Antique Georgian English Brass Side-Eject Candlestick, made between 1790-1820. Well made, it has a circular base and a central column with a button end mechanism to eject a candle.
Used in both homes as well as public places {restaurants, pubs and hotels} candlesticks like this were fitted with an ejector in the hollow-cast stem for removing candle stubs. In good antique condition, with a circular domed base which was lathe turned to thin out the base and also recover metal.
