This Antique China Doll Head is a lovely reminder of the dolls your great-grandmama might have played with carefully. Instant love when I spotted her at a brocante, I believe this is a German made porcelain beauty {possibly made by Hertwig}, she has the quality and facial characteristics they were famous for. She has a mark but I just can’t seem to figure out what that mark says or looks like.
Her eyebrows are single stroke and her blue irises are not highlighted (with a white dot, nor outlined with a darker blue circle. Her little mouth is painted in a heart shape, she is lovely! Her body plate does have some roughness, perhaps where a needle hit it several times causing small chips. Please only adopt her if you can live with this.
