This one is incredible! Antique Hand Embroidered Italian Linen Tablecloth with the most amazing blue & white hand embroidered heraldic crest. One of the most beautiful collectable cloths I have found in years. WOW. Extraordinary hand work, impressive and opulent. Embroidered with such skill on the cream textured linen, a piece like this would have taken months to complete. The design features griffins, flowers, swirling acanthus leaves, ribbon bows, and other decorative patterns.
Workmanship like this was reserved for linens for nobility, or very, very wealthy families in Europe. The cloth as well as the napkins are edged with hand knotted fringe. Truly museum quality, I have shown the back in one photo, the work is masterful. One small area where the embroidery thread has lost color, as shown on photo. I don’t mind that, this has been used for generations, but not much.
